There were definitely bright spots. rickshaw showed up again, spent several hours this time, and claimed he'd be back on Thursday after next.
valeriesparks picked last night to bring her mother and grandmother, so they got to hear her sing quite a bit. dancin_whitey and Kendall were also there for most of the evening, and so kept Valerie's little group from feeling too isolated.
wavewarrior and Kaye sang some songs - in fact somewhat egged each other on. That was really cool.
I puttered through until just before 1:00, where I ran out of chart. Then talked with Kaye for about an hour...
At home, the Chris-Bridget-Phillip-Mena drinking party was going full force. I mostly said hello then retreated to my room. Chris tried to introduce me to both Bridget and Phillip, which was good for a few laughs. Mena and I then started to pretend we didn't know each other and introduced ourselves.
Since I was still somewhat energized, I finished up a phase of the consulting work, slept for a few hours, then put together the relevant reports.
Of course, this all meant I was passed out at about 11:30. Trudi picked that time to come by, and got so tired of pounding on the door that she started spraying water on my window to wake me up. Apparently no-one at the house felt in condition to crawl to the door right then.
So I spent a good part of the afternoon with Trudi, which was fun, but kinda kept me away from work. One little task always leads to the next one.
I finally made it in by 4:00, which has worked for most purposes: I've installed the latest changes, discussed my status with my boss, and arranged to help a QE person with some work tomorrow afternoon.
In a few minutes it'll be "off to the bar" time. I'm hoping for a slightly larger group than yesterday, but not holding my breath.
