I just had to do it:

This afternoon I drove around for a bit with:

  1. A Shoutcast net radio station running to my phone over GPRS

  2. An FM transmitter plugged into the phone's headset jack

  3. My car radio tuned to the local transmitter


Thus, by way of a tangle of wires and adapters, I can listen to low-fi internet radio in my car. Woo!

The only thing that would have made Rube Goldberg any prouder would be passing the sound through a rotating wheel of fast-learning Mynah birds.
