Including grabbing a portable air conditioner they aren't using anymore, that took maybe 40 minutes.
So we had an evening free. There had been some noise about maybe playing an LOTR game with misswong77, cekyr0, and jeffercine, but that didn't materialize, so Timmie called up rebekie to see if we could get free seats for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Apparently she could, but only would if we'd take her. Like that's a chore...
So we all had dinner at Outback, relaxed, joked around, and then saw the film - for the first time, for me.
I'm always amazed by how Tim Burton keeps on putting out such damn good movies. It was just wonderful. I've never read the book, but if his screenplay is closer to the original plot, I can see why he hated the Gene Wilder version.
On the other hand, he seems to have a special appeal to dorks and nerds. The room was emptyish, though there were definitely people in the room. Our row seemed to be the only one that was laughing continuously. They probably thought we were smoking something...
And that was my Saturday night adventure. So far today has been spent mostly sleeping, and playing with the bizarre fact that I can receive Shoutcast transmissions on my phone. There's always new ways to waste time.
