It sounds like it was quite a ride. Unfortunately, it ended with him gashing one knee rather badly, and breaking the patella in two on the other one. He is not a happy camper right now.
They're still waiting for an ambulance to take them to the Santa Clara Kaiser, where he'll be taking up residence for a while. They say they can fix it, though I'm of course worried about complications - he's on enough blood thinners to kill a small colony of rats, not to mention just about every heart medicine known to man. Not a good combo for surgery.
The fact that he just turned 84 is just a plus.
