As most people probably know by now, Alex won. I'm happy for him, in a number of ways. I gotta say, though, that every singer up there was impressively talented. I'm just glad I didn't have anything to do with the judging - I wouldn't know how to make a fair decision.
I hung out with Mena for the afternoon, on through closing, in part just to enjoy it - and let her enjoy it (She really doesn't get to go out much), and in part in anticipation of picking up my equipment after fair close. Of course, I then discovered they didn't want to do it then - so I now have to get up early again in order to get my stuff back. Oh well.
The giant KoC contingent all went their separate ways. Mena and I went home, showered, and changed. We were both starving, so we headed out to Red Lobster. We would have gone straight to Splash for the Pink Party then, but she'd forgotten her wallet in the diaper bag at Yasmin's, and needed cigarettes. She is definitely a tad scatter-brained. She also managed to lose her phone somewhere at Splash, later.
The Pink Party was impressive. Frightening, even. I swear the building was at twice legal capacity. Mena and I spent a lot of time hanging out in the booths upstairs, where the sound was merely deafening. We spent the time girl-watching...
Dancing with Mena, timenchanter, his brother Ira, and Ira's lovely wife Alicia to La Bouche live on stage was one hell of a lot of fun.
So was flirting with Angela, and Jen's friend Carla.
We crawled home at about 1:40, and crashed.
