That's the extent of my gift-giving this year. Well, the extent of my Christmas gift-giving.
The downside of being there around dinner time is that the Cheesecake Factory is a short walk. And it was Friday.
I even had dessert. I'm not sure where I fit it all.
And then home, where I pretty much just worked on repairing CDG scans until 10:00am. There were a couple of reasons for that. One, I just wanted to get these ones done and off my plate. Two, and more importantly, I need to be working on an Offer in Compromise to both the IRS and the state, because I can't continue to pay them.
But I don't wanna deal with it, because I'm a big pussy.
So I spent several hours fixing errors in low-res graphics files, which is sort of like a mix between doing jigsaw puzzles and darning socks. At least if your socks are palette-mapped and only modifiable in small 1-bit chunks.
A little bit of sleep between 10:00am and 2:00pm, and then it was time to get up and ready for Christmas at the Dome. timenchanter and I got there around 4:15pm, after Carol, but before Indrajit, Jumi, Sruti, and Arjun.
There followed much fun, many presents (and attendant guilt on my part), far too many samosas, and another excellent dinner, capped off by a couple of very tasty pies.
The very odd thing was learning that one of my aunts was buried yesterday. I don't even know which one, but then, right now I can't even list them. Family was always something we sort of avoided, so I never really got to know mine.
I had a strange childhood. It prepared me reasonably well for my adulthood.
I'm about to just go to bed, despite the fact that there are a couple of unincorporated discs on my bed. The one I was expecting arrived today, but with it was another one that I'd forgotten that I'd ordered.
At this rate I'm bound to order the same thing twice eventually.
But yeah. Bed. Definitely appealing.
