I picked her up at around 3:15pm.
She felt like sushi, so I introduced her to the Sushi Factory. Yet more evidence was gathered to prove that all-you-can-eat sushi is a dangerous, dangerous thing.
I dropped her off at home around 6:00pm, then went up to Fry's, mostly to spend a little more time in brightly-lit spaces. They somehow utterly failed to have anything I wanted to buy, which is a rare occurrence at Nerdvana.
But at least I got some mild exercise walking around, some light, and bits of mental exercise and socialization.
Then home. Angela and I had talked about going out again around 9:00pm, but when that rolled around, neither of us were really interested. I was busy procrastinating.
I apparently didn't blog about this (amazing, no?), but a couple of months ago, the video card in my desktop died. Rather than bother to fix things, I just let it be - when I've needed to, I've just logged in through VPN.
Then, the other day, as I was preparing to head off and try to resurrect raven2000's computer, I disconnected the desktop's monitor, on the theory that I might need a spare monitor with DVI connectivity. Then left it on my bed when it turned out that the thing might be huge, but it's VGA only (I forgotsted).
Then I put off returning it to the desk until I did something about the thick layer of dust.
Well, yesterday evening, I did something about the thick layer of dust, put the monitor back, and connected it to the motherboard VGA output. I can now play Snood again. Joy!
Granted, that's all of value I did between about 7:00pm and 11:00pm. But at least it was something.
A little after 11:00pm, I headed on out to the Cheesecake Factory. The concept was to just buy a dessert, eat that, then go home. So of course I also got a bowl (by their definition of "bowl") of clam chowder.
I valiantly tried to finish dessert, and got... close.
Then home, where I've played more Snood. But then, I've also played with the rack's video setup. The output looks reasonably clean here, but we'll have to see if there's any improvement in the field.
And that's about it. I've been feeling kinda cold, so everything in my room is on - the space heater, the halogen lamp, the karaoke system, the desktop, the TV, and my laptop. That all has managed to push the temperature up to 69°, which should be good enough.
I'll likely go to sleep shortly - it's been almost long enough that the Cheesecake Factory stuff won't counterattack too badly...
