Bamboo 7 isn't all that great. their karaoke system is all automated without the pleasure of a KJ to torture. Plus they charge money for their songs.

It's kinda interesting - the writers at the Metro don't think much of them either. KoC gets a fairly nice writeup, and 7 Bamboo, well, doesn't.

Though I've also heard several people theorize that they're popular with the university crowd, just out of proximity.

Or they're just really efficient with their ballot stuffing.

Oh..but they DO have a smoke machine...and when someone sings something really cool..the bartender activates it..which gives off a cool effect.

The 7 Bamboo thing reminds me of the rivalry between Cheers and... that other bar.. on Cheers. Not the Cheers from the Bay Area but the television show.
