Clean sheets and towels are a good thing, after all.
Then some sleep until around noon, an afternoon of not a huge amount - though I did manage to track down a website that carries the screws that both timenchanter and I need (LaptopScrews.com - go figure). This means he can't return the laptop this week, but apparently that's OK.
Also some work on the whole Metroactive vote thing. There will be flyers tonight. I also may be sending someone around with my laptop to get people to vote then and there.
This is just a teensy bit important to me...
Anyway. hektikat and I had settled on going to 7 for dinner, since neither or us had ever been, and it's right down the street from the HP Pavilion. After a bit of searching around for late-night-legal street parking, we settled in to an excellent meal.
We'd sorta hoped to run into Eddie, but he wasn't working that night. But hey, there was good company, excellent food, and quite a few drinks.
Then we wove our way down the street to the circus.
That was a lot of fun. Hokey as hell, with a unifying story that was just silly, and a remarkable number of performer gaffes (including a trapeze artist slamming his mid-back into a platform), but hugely enjoyable. You could tell it played extremely well to the kids in the crowd.
I was actually very impressed by the time organization. Everything was split second timed to keep things rolling. If something required a huge amount of setup, clowns would be on a different part of the stage to keep the attention elsewhere.
The elephants, while extremely well trained, were definitely not housebroken. Kudos to the pooper-scooper crew.
When that let out at around 11:00pm, Stacy and I headed up to the bar and had a couple of drinks. It was actually pretty lively - some guy was celebrating his birthday, and had a whole crew with him.
After she headed home, I hung out with foxypinkninja and kizmet100, and sobered up. What with all the talking, I didn't leave until 2:00am, decided that I was tired and that dinner_and would be fairly dead at that point, and just came back to the Duplex, grabbing some Carl's on the way.
That's mostly it. I've actually slept, which is good, finally called this one supplier, who claimed they'd emailed me on the 5th to say they couldn't fill my order.
Anyway, they're supposedly refunding my money, and I've attempted ordering the same disc for about $3 more from a Canadian company that claims they have it in stock. We'll see how that goes.
