I was set up just about on time, and actually had some singers by around 8:30pm -
I had about 20 different singers over the length of the night, though the rotation never got larger than 16. Remarkable people included
Curtis either is, or has rapidly become, a friend of Colleen's. So, yeah, Colleen was there, flirty as usual, but with what had better be her boyfriend in tow - at least given the amount they were making out.
We also had Ricki Anaya's meetup group. Ricki's been doing latin dance classes at the bar for over a year, but this is the first time we've actually met. She did a song with
And, of course, others. The bar actually made noticeably more than target, which was a very nice change. Even with all the people, I was able to fit in 8 rotations before stopping at just about 1:45am.
Then I took Jasmine home, unwound at the Mini, and came home to collapse.
Today I had to get up at the unheard-of early hour of 1:30pm, in order to go see my opthamologist. According to his tests, I'm still able to see, which is good to know. The only thing is that the nerve in my right eye continues to, and I quote, "look scary." But the pressure in both eyes is good (in fact better than last time), so he just wants to check it again in 6 months.
From there I migrated to the nearest TAP plastics, where I picked up a piece of scrap acrylic. One of the things that has stopped me from proceeding with engraving the tip jar is the fact that I don't know what I'm doing - so a practice piece seems like a good idea.
On that subject - I actually put the template on the jar yesterday. The process taught me something I should have known: Don't expect perfect alignment if you're wrapping a full sheet of thin sticky material around a tube. That was a frustrating half-hour...
From TAP I came here to CPK, where I just finished devouring a whole pear and Gorgonzola pizza. I apparently was a bit hungry...
Or maybe I'm just a glutton.
