The theme appeared to be dimension hopping, and gods, of sorts. I was with a group of people (who seemed to vary) who were apparently in very bad graces with some goddess or other.
Of course, most of it is gone, but there are still a few vivid scenes. Like trying to make it back along some track that apparently went through dimensions to a place called the Way Station, coming to a point that was simply impossible to pass (something about holding on to slick rails that were becoming more and more vertical, merging together, and disappearing into a rock face), then suddenly finding ourselves at the Way Station, in a line waiting for engine repairs.
The Way Station, by the way, kind of resembled a Victorian train station.
Talking to the owner of the Way Station, who gave my companion a wooden necklace with huge dark brown cubic wooden beads, and attached 3D wooden puzzle pieces, This was supposedly very important. I was holding it for her as we were talking to someone before leaving, and found that suddenly the necklace had wrapped itself around a couple of legs of the chair I was standing next to, and the puzzle pieces were all over the place.
I spent a lot of time digging up pieces, and suspected that an interloper piece might have inserted itself into the mix.
There was a corresponding thought that the Way Station continued its existence in an unstable area by sucking the luck out of those that passed through it.
The next bit I remember was in an open plateau area, with scrub brush and a lot of open dirt. Arachne and her handmaidens were there, Arachne pretty much cocooned and comatose. It was me and a male companion at this point, trying to help them. They'd been tricked into this place, and none of them could deal with the sun. They were kind of melting. There was a rush along pathways, helping to carry the cocoon/mummy, as handmaidens fell by the wayside.
We were heading for a cave, that was actually more of a near-vertical crack in the dirt. We actually threw Arachne in, which was supposedly the right thing to do, though it kind of hurt to see her bounce off various projections on the long way to the bottom. The one remaining handmaiden scrambled in.
My friend and I had needed to get partway in the chasm to help, and he'd immediately rushed back out. I started to follow, when the walls around me started to crumble and pull me down. My companion yelled "she's a traditionalist!" as he helped me (just barely) make it out, and we ran away down one of the paths.
Then I was in an old house full of bric-a-brac. I had two companions, both male. One was an older nutty professor type, who was trying to do something to remove the influence of the goddess that was after us by using some device that looked for all the world like an inverted, torn umbrella.
It seemed to be working for him. She was pretty actively trying to get at the other two of us, though. All the TVs in the place turned on, showing snow that would gradually look more and more like a face as you looked at it - I had to yell at my companion to quite looking, as she'd be able to come in that way.
Then for a bit every knife in the place seemed to be after us.
Then I had to save my companion from the sharp edge of a crescent moon, which was part of a mobile that happened to be near his neck.
Then suddenly bluize walked in, just out of the pool, with a couple of girls in tow. None of whom seemed to be affected in the least. One of the girls was upset that I didn't recognize her, but the bushy beard was a bit of a distraction...
And that's when I woke up. I suspect I may be going back there when I get back to sleep.
