I just tend to get sorta paranoid, ya know?
Not that we had a lot - or much income - but it was enough to keep us going, and as I mentioned for Sunday, any income at all was gravy.
First of all we had
Then there was Creepy Mexican Phone Guy™ and Esperanza. I don't think Esperanza has been in to one of the karaoke shows before, but
I was sitting at the bar talking to Anthony, and before I knew it, this reasonably cute but rather drunk individual was sitting on my lap. And I wasn't even wearing the appropriate shirt!
She remained... entertaining... for several hours, between dancing with singers, occasionally grabbing mics, and whistling at ear-splitting levels. That last seems to be a cultural thing.
Not to mention eating Anthony's nachos.
That all only calmed down when they adjourned to make out on the back couches. And to think
I can't complain about her too much, because she probably accounted for at least a third of the evening's bar income. Plus she actually was mostly pretty nice - just a bit out of control.
Then there was
I believe that's everybody. It must be noted that Elly sang. Something like 5 times.
I finished off
I definitely had fun. Though I need to look into some technical issues. Steven (the new one) brought his own discs, which I mostly scanned in. The idea was that any glitch issues could be handled before he sang, rather than during.
But the one disc I played without scanning played "cleanly," while several of those scanned in had crippling levels of visual artifacts. Just horrible. I mean, I have work to do on the scanning artifacts I've got for my collection (It's issue #3 on the task list), but most of those are legible...
Since we got started sorta late, I only ran for 11 rotations before closing just a little after 2;00am.
It took me longer than it should to close down, but we were out of there by 2:35am. Then Timmie and I had a relaxed dinner at Denny's, then home, some fiddling, and sleep.
The one slight complication of the evening was that Beckah forgot her phone, which was charging in the booth. David has a tendency of rather suddenly deciding that he needs to leave, and in the process of saying goodbye, both her and I forgot it was up there.
There ensued a number of missed connections (she apparently went to sleep before I responded to her first message, and she responded to that after I went to bed this morning), but we finally figured out a place to return the item.
Which is why I'm up so early. I got her phone to her just before 4:00pm, and realized I was near Valley Fair before the evening rush.
I still need to figure out what to do with the rest of my day, but that's OK - Tuesday is my main day off. Unplanned can be good.
Though I still need to put together today's Craigslist ad...
