I didn't make it because, well, no reason. The usual enormous inertia. Being too comfortable in my chair. Whatever. As it is, I didn't get there until a little after 7:30pm, which would have likely been fine, if I hadn't helped bring in one of Paula's new couches. The fact that it was myself and bluize, who had to take a breather every 10 feet, was a problem, too...
But that's mostly excuse. I didn't get everything plugged in, passed out, and written up until about 8:50pm, which is sad, given I had a lineup of singers at that point.
So with both the house speakers and mine, the sound was... well, I liked it. I didn't get the feeling of better reproduction, per se, but I thought it was a bit more, well, pervasive. Fewer hot and cold spots in the room. The problem with the stage speakers in that place is that they're just pointed at the stage/dance floor. And the vast majority of the people hang out at the bar.
Anyway. It turned out to be one of the busiest nights we've had in quite a while. We had sylvan and his friends, several groups that only occasionally show up (like nightvzn, Peter, et al.), an extremely rare appearance by qzar_mystik, an equally rare appearance by justnate and just a whole lot'o'people. I only fit four rotations in the night, finishing the last one off at 2:05am.
Or, in other words, cekyr0 and jeffercine only stayed for two songs, which means they left after a mere two hours...
Definitely a crazy night, and a whole lot of fun. Partly because of the stuff I had to take down, and largely because I was a complete klutz (imagine), it took me until 3:00am to get everything packed in the car, at which time I joined timenchanter, supersniffles, foxypinkninja, Nate-o, and princesskiti22 (can you see the squee?) for Denny's, already in progress. Yet more fun.
Then home, a comparatively uneventful unloading, and a bit of text message and phone drama trying to discover the fate of the missing sjgrrrl, all of which was eventually resolved.
And that was the Thursday that was.
