Which nap would have been more restful if I hadn't gorged myself at the funeral reception. I really don't know why I do that stuff.
So I didn't start the show until 8:20pm or so, making
Around 9:30pm or so, Hilary and Rick went home, making for a very tight rotation.
Fortunately, people started showing up around 10:00pm, including
As well as those who came later, like
So the 10th rotation expanded us from 2 to around 12 singers. Several of which actually did suicide. Granted, Eric did allow me to pick a couple of songs for him, but mostly he did his own, as did Hilary and Rick. After a quick discussion with Lisa, we decided I didn't know her well enough to pick out songs for her.
On the whole, this meant that I had a pretty easy night of it.
And, in fact, a great one. Debbie sang, and sang quite a bit, which was wonderful. I wish I had a video of her and Mikey tag-teaming Out Tonight.
It was a great group of people, and a wonderful time. Not a hugely profitable one, mind you, but a wonderful one. The bar take for the weekend was over 20% down over average - most of it that odd discrepancy on Sunday.
I closed at about 1:50am, at the end of the 16th round, packed up, grabbed some Denny's, went home, unpacked, and slept.
I woke up today for a bit around noonish, then when nothing else seemed to be going on, went back to sleep. So now I'm rested, and trying to motivate myself to actually get up, leave the house, and do something with the day. Like, y'know, eat something other than brownie bites.
Time will tell.
