I got to the bar at about 8:00pm last night. While late, this wasn't too bad - I was already mostly set up, after all. There were already people there - including the elusive hollyk - so I had things going by 8:35pm.
Most of the evening is kind of a blur, from the simple fact that I wasn't fully there. I still kept on top of most things - despite having my player lock up on me once, and zapping Shawn's song in the middle - again.
Then there was the interesting problem with my announcement mic. It basically stopped working, I think because of a connection problem with its usual jack. It fortunately worked fine in a different one - and I think I managed to clear things up at the end of the night. Sunday will tell.
Otherwise, well, it was a reasonably busy night. I ran a total of 6 rotations, ending at about 1:55am. We witnessed the re-return of swanhart, and had a short visit by
trivialt. The most exceptional part of the evening was the birthday party for Shawn's godmother Sheila. She was a lot of fun. She was also having a lot of fun. Sufficient fun that I'm not totally sure she remembers the night at this point. She sang a couple of songs, and not too badly.
We also knew the joy of jorgitoelcubano for a good part of the evening. He's spending more time coming out and being social, which I consider a very good thing.
Paula was happy about the take, which meant I didn't have to deal with that during shutdown. This is good, 'cause I was moving extremely slowly. I wasn't packed up and out of there until near 3:00am. Then some fortification at Denny's, then home, where I also managed to take forever to unload.
But I did, found a place to park the car, and then woke up this morning at about 9:00am in my chair.
After fiddling around online for a while, I actually got into bed around noon, and got back out at about 6:00pm. I then proceeded to get up for the day at my usual speed, and so made it here by about 9:30pm. And now I'm finishing up dinner.
Haven't decided if I'm dropping by Nemesis yet or not...
