A typical lovely evening at the Hamptons. It was a reasonably large group this time, with much great conversation. As a sample, we had princesskiti22 (Oh, squee, already!), wissavix, electrichobbit, jorgitoelcubano, trivialt, markobellydance, celticnoor (and Leila!), raininroses, and amor_ereptor (who brought scads more of that lovely fudge - which I did my part to eliminate. The stuff is evil, and I've pledged myself to consuming and digesting as much as I can, to rid the world of it. That's the kind of hero I am). Oh, and I seem to remember that hogarthhughes was there as well.
Timmie and I left around 11:00pm, after all attempts by himself, cekyr0, and jeffercine to seduce Ken B. had failed. I'm not used to built gay men cowering behind me, as if I'm about to protect someone's virtue.
We got home, Timmie went to bed, and I got to work.
I'm still not sure if I'm sick or not. I alternate between feeling perfectly fine, and like there might be something going on. But I can say that the main indication that I might be ill is the fact that I worked on rack hardware until about 5:00am, then tested it out until around 6:00am. Almost all the toys I acquired on Tuesday - and a few that had been ordered previously - have been incorporated. I have less stuff hanging off the back of the thing, and by all rights it should be slightly lighter.
This involved building two cables, using my l33t soldering skills (here's where I see if turn2nz is reading), replacing cables by feel (I can't see into the center of the thing), replacing the old monitor power supply with the one for the new one (again, by feel), mounting the transformer box for said power supply with cable ties (soooo white trash), putting together the new modular back plate, and mounting said plate on the rack.
Doesn't seem like much, but for some reason it takes forever.
Then sleep from 6:00am to a little after noon, when I got myself up, and went to have the official insurance estimate for the car. It of course came out to less than what I got the other day, and I doubt I'll find a place that will work for that little. But I'll get some financial help for the thing - I just need to find a body shop near my place.
I know there's one chargerboy's been to...
Then from there over to beautiful Ben Lomond, and the even more attractive Keri, who I delivered to moahb's door in quite satisfactory condition. They should be up in the city by now, and hopefully will be having an excellent time at Avenue Q with the rest of the mob.
And now I'm finishing up dinner, and am about to take myself and my newly soldered equipment to the bar, where I'll find that one thing wrong I missed during testing.
I don't hate Murphy. I just know him.
