My first victim was sjgrrrl, who wandered in some time around 8:15pm. Then we waited for more people, because, offhand, I didn't want to do a two person rotation. We finally got a few around 8:40pm.
There's a rough rule I've been able to apply to Sundays and Mondays for quite some time. The two nights together normally make a particular amount of money. If Sunday's busy, Monday is slow, and vice versa.
This Monday was a glaring exception. It was slooooowwwww. The rotation was a solid 5 people almost all night (the last two or so were 3). It bumped all the way up to 6 when Eddie arrived - and immediately dropped back down when Heather left.
I ran for 12 rounds and stopped sometime around 1:05am. It just didn't seem worth continuing at that point - most of the paying customers had gone home.
On the plus side, blankreloaded was there almost all night - and we finally got Ray to sing. He only meant to do one song, but, hey, it was Monday, and he put himself in the rotation...
The man has a very nice singing voice.
After closing, I went to Mini Gourmet, and spent the night's income on food and drink.
Then home and sleep.
Tuesday I got up around 10:00am, because timenchanter and I had an appointment to see an apartment. Reasonably nice place. Possibly a smidge overpriced, but it's walking distance to City Hall - and 15 minutes from the bar. We'll see.
I finally got a debris box ordered - it'll be delivered "this" afternoon, and I'll have it for a week. So I kinda have to start filling the thing pronto. I'm also probably going to rent a brush cutter and start in on the yard in a day or two.
I got the letters waiting at the post office. One contained my three new discs, which have been put in the database. The other two duplicated a letter I'd already gotten, indicating that the foreclosure sale will be April 10th. Supposedly the bank has approved the present purchase deal, so that's hopefully been defused already. I'm faxing a copy to my agent anyway.
While I was playing with the database, I also put in a whole bunch of missing/wrong data I found during the CDG ripping process. Which is over. I finished off US-01 Monday at the show. I'm still having some issues with the one laserdisc rip. Not surprisingly, defragmenting the drives did pretty much nothing. I'm going to have to talk to support over at Womble about it.
I headed to the bar tonight for the whole Soce thing. It was a lot of fun, though not at all what I was expecting. The impression I'd gotten was that he was a hip-hop DJ. Completely false - he's a rapper.
Guess who was there, and got elected to DJ? Not that it was particularly hard - he had a disc burned with the backgrounds he wanted, in the order he wanted. Though he did, uh, "project" all over my mic condom. I'll be washing both of those Thursday as soon as I get in.
At least he's not one of those dorks who thinks removing the condom will make him sound better - then does the same thing.
And now I've finished supper, and need to head home and do some of the sleep thing.
