Should Have Learned By Now

So, being an idiot, I loaned the car to "She" again. She wanted to visit Esther, in Gilroy.

This should have hit me as a bad idea in the first place. Esther is Lajosh's sister. Lajosh is an ex-boyfriend of hers that used to beat her up on occasion, and knows how to manipulate her to a T.

Plus, of course, their place is home to Crystal.

But I let her borrow the car, as long as she had it back by 5:00.

Of course, at 5:00, she calls and asks if she can keep it for an extra hour. I say need it by 6:30, or 7:00 at the absolute latest.

So she agrees to get it to me by 7:00.

Just before 7:00, she's stuck in bad traffic in Morgan Hill. She's supposedly still there at 7:30. At 8:35, she claims she's turning onto a side street to Monterey Rd a mile north of where she said had been before because she was hydroplaning on the freeway.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this story? Perhaps give a hypothesis as to why all her early "in traffic" messages were text messages?

When they did arrive at 9:00, Lajosh was driving, and "She" wasn't ready to get out of the car. She took a couple of minutes gathering up a bunch of clinking things. Empty sounding clinking things.

So tonight I arrived at the show an hour and a half after it was supposed to start.

At this point, I don't particularly care if her mother is dying in the hospital. She can take a bus.
