sugarbare had her usual great time being pissed off. While trivialt didn't show up, hollyk, timenchanter, markobellydance, and mvmedic all did. As well as quite a few others - it was kizmet100's return to public life, Amanda and Kacie made it out again, Eddie was there all night, etc. For a Monday, it was quite busy.
Definitely a pleasant time.
Afterwards, I dropped synkitty off, then had some supper at the Cardinal.
Today, Timmie got me up with an offer of lunch at ThepThai, which is becoming a bit of a tradition. Since I was up, I headed off to K&K to see what I could do about the light.
After some surgery, it was discovered that the bulb had exploded. I was sold another one (and a spare), with a stern lecture about not leaving the light on all the time (this is in the manual, sadly). I was told to put it on a timer so that it stayed on for a maximum of 15 minutes at a time.
Easier said than done. I spent the afternoon trying to find such a timer. There is a unit at Guitar Center that will do - but it costs $200. There is a daily timer at Fry's that can be made to work, with a huge amount of manual programming. That will have to be redone every time the batteries run out. The fact of the matter is that in general, people want timers with daily cycles or weekly cycles, that run on or off for an hour or more.
I'm sure I'll work out something, but I'd really prefer it not be a homemade box with a PIC processor. I can just imagine the fire marshal's response to that.
Right now, I think a nap is in order.
