timenchanter and I never quite hooked up for dinner last night. He was apparently in his room waiting for me to be ready, and I was in my room waiting for him. I eventually decided he was napping, and headed to SiliCon.
Of course, we cleared up the confusion shortly after I left, but decided that things might as well stay as they were.
SiliCon was, well, interesting. It's shaping up as a nice little con - one of the type I used to prefer to go to, back when I did 7-10 cons a year. Its only problem (at least last night) was that it was rattling around inside the Doubletree, looking slightly lost.
Which probably matched my behavior for most of the evening. Apart from synkitty, I ran into remarkably few people I recognized. Some recognized me, which was nice, but, well, always a little disturbing when you're not sure who they are.
Like the cute little redhead in the coffee garden that kept waving. No idea whatsoever, dammit.
And then there was Kristen, who apparently works under helios77. Many times as I wandered the party floor, I noticed this remarkably good looking girl. Who was introduced to me when the Gay Bar showed up - to immediately say "Oh yeah, I know Bruce."
Sigh. It's bad enough that I forget people, but doubly so when it's the really hot ones.
And what's with all the attractive women whose names start with "Kris"?
In any case, cmjfoxfyre, Shawn, gidget121972, Phillip, and several friends I don't really know arrived around 11:20, and things got to be quite a lot of fun. Carla was, of course, dressed to the nines and looking quite edible.
I got to have a nice talk with Shawn. I may do some audio work for his latest venture - not to mention a little connection brokering. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but what the hell.
And, of course, we all went to the RHPS showing, which was why the group was there right then. Certainly a lot of general fun, including trying to figure out how many tootsie pops can be inserted into Kristine's cleavage. And then the frustrating - but also fun - time of watching the aforementioned Kristen, and another girl, climb all over a guy in the seat directly in front of me.
It didn't help that at least right then, the guy in question was acting like the type of dumb, drunk, loud, date-raping frat boy that I especially despise. But I am, of course, not in the least bitter about this.
After the show they took off home, and I went back to wandering. The Doubletree is most likely good for my health - I seem to make a circuit of the building about once ever 15 minutes.
Though I did spend some time watching Moldiver in the anime room.
I think I got home around 5:30. Then started thinking about waking up a little after noon. After I got myself vaguely awake and ready at 2:20 or so, Timmie and I grabbed some food at Fresh Choice, then headed up to the dome.
We've done some general work around the place. A bit more power-washing, and the scooping out and repairing of a gutter that was totally clogged. And now we're sitting around waiting for my mom to finish dinner. It's apparently boeuf Bourguignon tonight.
