I seem to have this sudden urge to acquire a monster pick-up.
Last night's show was fun, but sloooooowww. The first two rounds consisted of me, dwo, and synkitty. It picked up from there, but the rotation never got beyond 11 people - and only stayed that high for two rounds.
Still, we had cool people. ajayav and supersniffles were there for most of the night, and trivialt came out to schmooze with Chip for a bit. Ramond came back out (I forget if this was his second or third time), and brought his friend Linwood - an excellent singer.
At one point, I pulled "I'm Coming Out," which amused spawrhawk no end. That gave wavewarrior the idea to give me "I Know What Boys Like." I could just feel the love.
I ran out of chart at the end of the 12th round. It was 1:20, and there were only 4 of us in the rotation, anyway.
And with all that, the bar apparently made less that $100 for the evening. Which doesn't quite add up, but there it is.
I took Synthia home, fiddled about a bit online, then did the sleep thing again. A bit too much of it, actually. I didn't get started towards Sac today until around 2:30, so I ran into a huge amount of traffic on the 580.
With the result that I got to the courthouse at 5:08. Not only was the department I needed shut down, the courthouse doors were locked.
I didn't pack to stay the night, so I'll be heading back down shortly - if I can get up early enough, I'll try again tomorrow. But I wasn't going to waste a trip, and I certainly was is no mood to brave rush hour traffic on the way back down. So I headed on over to Sacramento Old Town, and I'm now sitting in front of the waterfall at California Fat's. I'm not as fond of it as I was when it served California cuisine, but it's still damn good food in a great environment.
Actually, the food is much too good. I really shouldn't have ordered dessert...
I was going to visit cmjfoxfyre at work this evening, but I'm obviously not going to be back in town by 9:00. I most likely will make it to Splash, unless something else bizarre happens. Not that I'm worried about something else happening. No, not me.
