It was, of course, Heather's birthday. Quite a few people were there for that. Quite a few others were there because today's a holiday. And stayed all night for the same reason.
A lot of my memories of the night are fairly blurry. That's partly due to the pint glass of fairly yummy peach-flavored stuff
As a kind of interesting side note, two different people had to ask me about the delicious-looking blue drink in the martini glass, then rushed off to buy one after tasting it.
From the dirty old man perspective, it was almost too good a night. I couldn't decide where to look. La Jentra finally made it out for a show. Natalie was there, as mentioned. The delectable Sunny and her friend Charlene spent the whole night, camped out almost next to the DJ booth - which meant I couldn't look out over the room without seeing Sunny shimmy.
With Natalie came
On the not as attractive front (to me, at least),
Effie and Tim made it out after a long absence. Jasmine showed up after a similar length of time. She's apparently been stuck due to a lack of bus pass - so Steven made sure she had the money to buy one.
And a lot of others. The rotation, at its maximum, was probably about 36 people. We were busy. I felt kinda bad for Kris. She finally got my message about 7:50, threw on some clothes (she'd been in the shower), and opened up the bar at 8:10. Fortunately for her, Paul wandered in around 10:30 or so, because she desperately needed to pee and didn't have the time. It was crazy. Every now and then I'd see her over there and think of Dante...
We never were able to get in touch with
It took me forever to close down after the show. First, I was pretty exhausted. Second, I had a major slip filing job on my hands. I didn't have time to keep up earlier. It's kind of interesting, but a huge amount of the shutdown process is just that - filing slips and alphabetizing envelopes.
Then I drove
Then home, and sleep. I've been up for a little bit, but the bed's looking seductive again...
