Thursday was, of course, unbreak_able's birthday party (As well as a couple of others, as well). The bar was actually pretty damn packed, and I believe a fun time was definitely had by all. I certainly had a blast. Too busy to get Debbie a drink, so I owe her a shot of Jack.
On Friday, Timmy, Debbie, and I went out for some sushi, then saw Phantom of the Opera. I was actually quite pleased. It was kitschy, but let's face it - it's a kitschy story. Granted, Gerard Butler is no Michael Crawford, but he sang reasonably well, and acted the part extremely well. Emily Rossum is also no Sarah Brightman - but she's good. And she has the perfect look for the part.
Of course, my opinion of a movie may have been affected by the company, and the company was excellent. At one point, Debbie and I were conducting in tandem...
As we were driving off, James gave me a panicked call - apparently there was yet one more IRLM show that I didn't know of. So we rushed off to the bar, only to find that it was called off at the last minute for lack of participants. Too many other venues at the same time.
But we all ended up at the bar, which is a fine thing indeed. I got to say hello to Valerie, as well as Kate, hollyk's evil twin. And dancin_whitey, and delirium, and Mark, and Maggie, and nikari, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Debbie went off her own way, and Timmy and I headed back to his place for a sadder situation - autmnbear moving out the last of her stuff.
He's been pretty depressed about the whole thing with her, so I've been doing what I can to cheer him up. It's hard when one of the mainstays of your life just goes away, apparently completely clueless as to what they're doing.
Everyone's gone to bed, here, so I should pack my stuff and Tim up, and head back down to Silicon Gulch.
