Then a walk around the mall (I'd say to work dinner off, but that would have required about 7 brisk trots around the Great Mall - not a leisurely walk around Oakridge), and off to Splash.
I didn't get there until about 10:15, but the place was still pretty dead. It picked up over time, though. I ended up hanging out with timenchanter, electrichobbit, swanhart, and cybrenn, as well as much flirting with La Jentra. It was the night of the finals (the reason I went), and it came down to Jen vs. an amazing singer called Karen - with Jen taking it for the 2nd year in a row.
During that whole process, I got Joe's number and email from bluize again (SMS is sooo useful), and finally sent off an email to him about complications for this weekend.
That bounced from him to Gary Walker, they've both talked it over, and Joe should be dropping off my access packet at the bar tomorrow night. It's nice when things work...
I also brought up the Sunday winner access issue, which they're hopefully looking into.
After the show, I wandered around downtown for a bit (I was going to be sure that Jäger bomb had no effect on a breathalyzer), and composed an email to Beth - we haven't made contact in a while.
Then home. I've been here since then, though I did at least leave the room to help Mario with some leatherwork in his workshop downstairs.
Mostly, though, I've been focussing on songbook creation, which today has meant getting to know ps2pdf better. This isn't looking too difficult, though I don't have a huge amount of hope that I'll have something ready by Saturday - I think it would be good to have something complete for the day of the contest.
Now I need to clean up and head to Alameda...
