Happiness to All

I haven't gotten involved in all the V-day stuff because I don't have an SO, and I'm not all that good at "special" days, anyway.

But I do want to let all my friends know one thing:

I love you all. Every one of you adds richness and joy to my life.

I hope you have a wonderful day today, and every day to follow.

Not Blind

I made it to the Hamptons last night only about half an hour late - an improvement over last week, at least.

Not an incredibly crowded party, but no less awesome than usual. It was at least partially koc_hex's birthday party, and I had the (recently) unique vantage of seeing him drunk. Of course, I also found that he apparently is afflicted with machismo. I hadn't been aware of that.

But I continue to have hope that someday, somehow, we'll find a cure.

I got to see the elusive hollyk, sugarbare, and Isaac. We all munched on candiddani's weenies, as well as k_magic's wonderful bowtie pasta.

I finished up the last of the cherry vodka, so I bummed a ride to the store with vanillaspice to get more. They didn't have 3 Olives cherry, so I grabbed mango, instead. Still quite yummy.

A guy I've known for years, whose name keeps escaping me (Johnny? Nathaniel) brought in his roommate, Jamie. Quite the little cutie, and fun, too.

Knowing me, I got her name wrong, too. I should require that everyone fill out a song slip before talking to me...

What else? Quite a few more people, much good conversation, and good times.

I felt sober enough to drive around 1:30am, and so went home. And surprisingly, fell asleep fairly quickly.

Of course, I woke up around 8:30am, and just could not either wake up or get back to sleep. I was starting to feel sleepy around noon, but I had a 2:00pm opthamologist's appointment, so I gave up, showered, dressed, and went to Kaiser to have my eyes prodded.

The upshot? My peripheral vision is good, pressure is good (blood pressure's a little high, though), I have thick corneas (which is apparently good), and I should come back in 6 months, because he still thinks there may be something going on.

In fact, the only thing wrong he found is that my eyes are sorta dry, which is likely the problem I've been having with my left eye. He gave me some artificial tears, and sent me on my way.

And that's about it so far. I almost got a Friday fill-in gig at the same place as Saturday, but I was talking to the doctor when DJ Purple called, and he'd given the gig to someone else in the 15 minutes it took me to get back to him.

And now I'm up, and fed, and it's a beautiful day.

And I mostly want to go home and get some sleep. But Fry's is calling my name...

Saturday, Saturday, Saturday!

I've mentioned this before, but it was at the end of a long post, so here it is on its own:

Keri and I will be doing a show this Saturday at the Swingin' Door in San Mateo. We'll be there from 9:00pm to 1:30am.

The address is 106 E 25th Ave, San Mateo.

I already have several people planning to go. I'd love to see anybody who can make it - and if you are thinking of showing up, try letting me know by the end of tonight, and I'll bring along your envelope.
