Elder Sign

Tear Down and Rebuild

Well, I've managed the gauntlet I built for myself. All bills I know of are paid, I have all the pieces for the PC karaoke system either sitting in my room or on the way, and my bank account should look appropriately sparse when the mortgage company checks it.

I've also done the paperwork for the hardship letter to said mortgage company, and gotten it all to my agent.

In any case, I'm now truly poor. If I haven't spent it already, it likely ain't gonna happen.

It's been kind of an interesting exercise. While it's incredibly easy to spend large quantities of money, it's a tad more difficult when you're trying to spend them well. I've had a total of maybe 5 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours, and between that and the fluish thingy, I feel like crap on a stick.

But whatever. All the pieces should fit together, and the result, if all works well, will be a better-sounding system that I can use in the bar, and that will fit in my little Escort.

Time will tell. After my agent came and went, I bundled up timenchanter, and headed out for a last fling. Some cash out of the checking account, a sinus-opening dinner at ThepThai, some cabling at Guitar Center, and then the inevitable stop at the bar.

I'll be out and about with Stuart tomorrow evening. Actually, I'm going to get to see him, Bernie, and Annelyse. What I'm not going to be able to do is stop by the Dead Dog party at the bar.

So I thought, since Wayne was buying the new one today, that perhaps he'd dropped it off at the bar. No such luck, but we said hi to Eddie, schmoozed with Lizz a bit, did a shot.. the usual.

Timmie and Eddie pointed out that the bar now stocks Campari. As a result, I drove us home later than I expected.

And now I'm here, with stuffed-up sinuses, enjoying Gypsy Cold Care made with the new hot pot, and waking up every few minutes to write a line or two.

Sleep. Sleep seems like a very good idea.
