Friends in Low Places

After a typically awesome dinner last night, timenchanter and I headed back down into the valley. We stopped off so he could get a missing season of Queer as Folk, and were heading home when Melanie called.

She suggested we head back over to Creekside Inn, which was apparently on the slow side.

I rarely refuse requests from attractive women.

It was a lot of fun, with some singing, spending some time talking to Darrel&Nan, and hanging out with Mel and Kathy.

I think I finally got us home around 2:30. I'm pretty sure I didn't actually make it to bed until 4:00 or so.

Today I got up at 9:30 so I could meet up with spawrhawk, dwo, k_magic, Anthony, and a guy whose name I really should know by now for brunch at Hobee's. A great time, though I was groggy enough that my horrendously bad pun filter was malfunctioning. I normally don't subject people to the ones that are that bad.

Then Mikey, Tim, and I took off in search of some costuming for Mikey for this coming Saturday's Ren Faire trip. We actually found something at Oakridge, which was kinda surprising.

I also ended up talking to Scooby at Spencer's. He mentioned there's an ICP concert this coming Wednesday. I snagged a couple of tickets - Mel and I will be going to be serenaded by the romantic sounds of psychopathic clowns.

I however didn't find what I was looking for, and decided to visit the Great Mall in search of Halloween clothing. Which failed miserably, but at least provided some exercise.

And now I'm home, where I really should try to nap for a little bit before the show.

Bar Drama

I've had two long phone calls today, one from James, and another from bluize. Depending on who you talk to, Kris has either been fired or quit - and most of the bartending staff has gone with her.

Tonight should be interesting. Janis will be bartending for the first part of the evening, then James will be taking over from around midnight until close. This is, supposedly, a one-time thing on James' part.

I'll be there as usual. While I may quit as well at some point, I'm not going to leave the clientele high and dry without warning. I did, however, point out that I might walk if too much customer time was wasted on shit talking.

It's been clear that things would come to a head at some point. It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out.
