I ended up flaking completely on the visit to Alameda yesterday. Stuart called me for an ETA around 8:20, and I hadn't even taken a shower yet. In fact, I didn't get out of the shower until around 10:30.
Which is, granted, an improvement over being ready for the day a little after midnight, which I've done before.
I took myself (And the laptop) to Cardinal Lounge for some food and immersion in public humanity. I ordered the Jerusalem Chicken, which reminded me, once again, why I don't order Jerusalem Chicken. It's not bad, but it's rarely ever all that good.
Then home. I was up until 4:30 or so, mostly doing things like watching Family Guy and the old Modesty Blaise movie (They so butchered that thing). Then my usual habit of late: Sleep until around 11:00. Just enough to make it difficult to go back to sleep.
Today, for a change, after a couple of hours of fiddling around, I forced myself. This is a good thing - I slept fitfully, but woke up at around 4:30.
I ended up with one of those "unprepared" dreams - the "can't remember what room the test is in" kind. In this case, I was trying to run a karaoke show under more than slightly strange circumstances. And every time I thought I had an idea that would fill the huge amount of dead air, I'd find I didn't have the necessary disc or piece of equipment. At least I was in the open air on a pleasant day.
Speaking of which, I'd better get moving.
